The Fractured Winterglass amulet is one of the most popular items for wizards in Season 5 of Diablo 4 because it is the core item for the Frozen Orb build. MeinMMO reveals where the amulet drops, how to farm it and how to use it correctly.
Where does Fractured Winterglass drop?
This is what makes the amulet so good: With Season 5, all uniques have become stronger, they now serve as the actual strongest items for certain builds.
The Shattered Winterglass has particularly useful stats for the “Frozen Orb” build. The build is in the A-Tier in the tier list of the best builds in Season 5. The amulet provides you with the following for the build:
As a legendary effect, the amulet gives you up to a 65% chance to cast a random summon when Frozen Orb explodes. Summons also have a lucky chance to fire Frozen Orbs.
So just by casting Frozen Orb you also summon hydras and ice blades that fire through the enemies. The build is suitable for both large masses of enemies and against individual bosses, which is not the case with many wizard builds.
Fractured Winterglass for the Frozen Orb build – How to play it
The playstyle of the build is pretty simple: you basically just spam Frozen Orbs and watch everything explode around you while Hydras and Ice Lances tear through enemies. The important thing is that the final explosion hits the right target.
Otherwise, you can stay alive with ice armor and a flame shield. However, you have to pay close attention to your mana. Other items that you should ideally have in your build are:
You can also conveniently get the Robe of the Infinite directly from Lord Zir. Tal’Rashas are best farmed from Lord Varshan and Tibault’s Will, Shako and the Ring of the Starless Skies can be found from Duriel and Andariel:
You can find the build in detail on maxroll.gg. The required Paragon boards and skills are also listed there.
With the appropriate items, you can then teleport enemies to a point and blow them up with Frozen Orbs. The orb itself makes enemies vulnerable, which in itself multiplies your damage.
Before you have the necessary items, it’s best to play a different build. The Sorceress’s lightning builds are usually quite good for this because they are almost all less mana-hungry than the Frost builds. A higher level also helps. Here you can find tips for leveling up quickly in Season 5.
