Wolves on Den Treek
A wolf pack with cubs has been living on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug since this spring. An individual wolf also roams their area, and seems remarkably interested in dogs he encounters. After two much-discussed incidents in which a dog was taken by a wolf and a girl was injured, the municipality of Leusden closed off part of Den Treek.
The area has been accessible again since Monday, but the advice remains to be careful and not to enter the forests on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug with children or dogs running loose.
