Farmer ‘still in a relationship’ before the start of the season

Farmer still in a relationship before the start of the

“Love is in the meadow” is back for a new 2024 season starting Monday, August 19. But some of the farmers present at the time of the portraits left the M6 show prematurely.

“Love is in the meadow” is making its big comeback for its 19th season. After the broadcast of the portraits in January, the 2024 farmers will discover if the M6 show allows them to discover their future soul mate. The first episode is broadcast this Monday, August 19, 2024, and will continue until the broadcast of the results, at the end of the year.

While there were 15 on the starting line, it is ultimately only 12 candidates that ADP viewers will discover for this 2024 season. Indeed, three candidates have left the adventure: Cyril, Guy and Damien. If the production of L’Amour est dans le pré has not revealed the reasons for these departures, one has caused shock behind the scenes.

This is what Gabriella Mather, producer, explains in the columns of Le Parisien: “This year again, we felt that an ex was coming back, we were very, very vigilant. And we decided to stop with this person”, she specifies, before revealing that this farmer “was in reality not really single, which is still one of the main conditions for participation in the show. He was still in a relationship, and we told them all at the beginning: Be careful, everything gets out! We always end up learning everything.” The name of the candidate concerned has not been revealed, however.

Among the candidates of the ADP 2024this season we will notably find two friends who have gone in search of love, a salt harvester, a young fan of Michel Sardou and a former notary who has become a breeder of luxury chickens.

Funny conversions and XXL shyness

Gilles, known as Gillou, 69, a former breeder and mixed farmer who has been semi-retired for 4 years in Pays de la Loire, has indeed embarked on the adventure with Renaud, 52, a poultry, cow and sheep farmer a few kilometres from his home. A first for the show. With his gift of the gab, “Gillou” already offers everything of the usual colourful character in the castings of Love is in the meadow and will not fail to arouse comparisons with his friend, of a rare gentleness and discretion.

In this season of Love is in the meadow, viewers should also notice Brice, a 38-year-old salt worker in New Aquitaine. Before operating a salt marsh, he practiced surfing and was a tennis instructor at Club Med! But nothing to do with the ineffable Popeye from Les Bronzés: Brice is very shy and is said to be “perfectly bad at flirting”.

The new season of Love is in the Meadow also promises some sagas that only the program knows the secret of: Pascal, a sheep farmer nicknamed “Bobosse” because he is obsessed with work, will he be able to slow down and put his years of alcoholism behind him to start a relationship? Will Valentin, known as “Tintin”, 26, a dairy farmer in Normandy, be able to overcome his shyness to offer his tenderness and humor to someone? Will Christophe, 57, a winemaker and sheep farmer, find the man of his life after having stifled his homosexuality for years so as not to expose his parents?

A look at a difficult profession

Among the other candidates in the ADP 2024 casting, we will be able to meet Manuela, 50 years old, who left her job as a notary school director to become a breeder of “ornamental chickens” in Centre Val-de-Loire, Bruno, a tall, 1m93 lanky guy who has only had three relationships, the longest of which lasted 8 months, or Mickaël, a dairy cow breeder, but also a “dandy” of the Breton countryside. Profiles that are often atypical but always endearing.

The approach of Love is in the Meadow is to provide a space where these farmers can confide about their lives, their loneliness, their dramas, such as the death of a spouse, a parent or loved ones, illness and difficult periods specific to the profession. It also allows them to share their hopes and doubts in terms of romance, all while helping them find their other half. The format of the show, faithful to its concept, invites viewers to actively participate by sending their love letters and declarations to the candidates who have won their hearts.

The show is not limited to the presentation of new candidates. It will also offer, as every year, “L’Amour vu du pré”, a sequence where participants from previous seasons return for an often colorful and moving debriefing. This part will bring together this season familiar and adored faces of the public, such as Didier, Francis, Sébastien, Jérôme and Lucile, Mathieu, as well as newcomers from last season such as Christine, Joris and Charles.

Love is in the meadow Season 19 began as every year with the broadcast of the farmers’ portraits on January 8, 15 and 12, 2024. Then always follow the applications of the suitors before the meetings and the attempts of the couples to settle down. The precise broadcast date of the second part of the program begins on August 19, 2024, until the assessments at the end of the year.

It is of course possible to watch the portraits and episodes of Love is in the meadow after the broadcast on the TV schedule. To watch the episodes live or rewatch them, simply go to the 6play.fr website.

Viewers of Love is in the meadow vibrate at the same time as the candidates each season. If some have found lasting love thanks to the M6 show, others have unfortunately separated from their suitors during or after the broadcast.
