Space debris belonging to the American Space X has crashed into a sheepfold in the Snowy Mountains in southeastern Australia, the Australian Space Agency confirms.

These are three large objects, which are considered to be the largest to hit the continent since 1979, according to ABC News. Photos from the impact site show an object several meters long sticking out of the ground.

On July 9 of this year, residents nearby heard a loud bang, which was linked to a Dragon-type space capsule that was launched in November 2020 and re-entered Earth’s atmosphere on July 9.

A little worrying about large objects falling from the sky, notes Jock Wallace, a farmer who lives near the impact site, to the public service company.

– If it had landed on your house, it would have been a hell of a mess, he says.

What will happen to the debris is somewhat unclear. Presumably it will be sent back to Space X, or the company will donate the objects to researchers in Australia.

So far, Space X has completed 35 missions with the Dragon capsule, which can carry astronauts and cargo into space. The capsule has made space history as the first private spacecraft to carry humans to the ISS space station.
