Färjestad’s Per Åslund breaks the silence about the nasty accident

Per Åslund had a terrible accident against Leksand this weekend.
Now the ferry town icon is breaking the silence after the scary collision that left him motionless on the ice for a while.
– Right now I feel quite sore and my face is quite sore, he says to the club’s website.

It was in Saturday’s match between Leksand and Färjestad (the Värmlanders won 4-3 after extra time) that the FBK icon Per Åslund38, was hit by Patrik Zackrisson which came from “blindside”. Åslund fell to the ice and lay down – he received medical attention and was forced to stop the game.

Now the Färjestad player himself tells about the nasty accident. It turns out that he doesn’t even remember much of the incident. Opponent Zackrisson has at least contacted him to check on the situation with him.
– I’ve seen it, but I don’t remember the collision itself. Right now I feel quite sore and my face is quite sore, says Åslund to Färjestad’s website.

Given the circumstances, he’s doing just fine. Now the club profile has started its rehab and is expected to be out of action for a while.
– It is so fresh that it is a bit difficult to say how it really feels. Also trying to take it easy with any hopes before I know how it feels going forward. Right now, it’s walking that counts, he says.

Åslund has concussion and fractures

Färjestad’s medical team has also commented on Per Åslund’s injury and tells how he should work forward to get back. They have discovered he has facial fractures and a concussion.
– Per has facial fractures that will heal but is mainly being treated for the concussion he sustained, says Matthias Hell who is responsible for the medical team.
