Farah Abadi on stage with Dolly Style

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

This year’s edition of the Melodifestivalen has used famous participants from the past to create stardom in the television broadcasts. In Saturday’s sub-competition, Dolly Style gets that task.

The group has participated three times in Melodifestivalen, most recently four years ago with the song “Habibi”. It is the song that the trio will perform on stage in Lidköping.

To help them, they get a fourth member – presenter Farah Abadi will take her place next to the three Dolly Style girls.

In addition to Dolly Style, Afro-dite will also be there to pay tribute to Svenne & Lotta, the duo who are inducted into Melodifestivalen’s Hall of Fame in the program.

Svenne and Lotta Hedlund during the Melodifestivalen in Gothenburg 1975.

Svenne & Lotta participated in Melodifestivalen several times. In 1975, the duo came third with “Bang, en boomerang” and it is the song that Blossom Tainton Lundquist, Gladys del Pilar and Kayo in Afro-dite sing in the program. Blossom’s father Graham Tainton did the original choreography for the number in 1975.

Svenne and Charlotte “Lotta” Hedlund made music together between 1966 and 2014. They were also married for many years. Svenne Hedlund died last year.

Nordman, Marcus & Martinus and Paul Rey are among others competing in the sub-competition in Lidköping.
