In 1963, a poncho was just a poncho. Then in 1964 For a Fistful of Dollars came out in theaters and the world was a different place. Everyone wanted to transform themselves into Clint Eastwood with a poncho, the Spaghetti Western hype was born and the film landscape was no longer the same. For a handful of dollars, Eastwood made a star, made Italian Westerns socially acceptable and left such a deep cultural imprint that it is still considered a cult film by millions of fans almost 60 years later. Director Sergio Leone then made the westerns For a Few Dollars More and Two Glorious Scoundrels with Eastwood. which are now referred to as the Dollar Trilogy.

The many fans of the masterpiece include Quentin Tarantino, who described the western in a speech as “Birth of modern filmmaking” celebrated. According to the star director, the film shaped, among other things, the staging of genre moments and the handling of the soundtrack like no other.
