But can Jodie resist the temptations of newfound fame through his Jesus superpowers? What is his true purpose on earth? And who is the mysterious Lemuel (Tenoch Huerta from Black Panther 2) pursuing the child prodigy? These are just some of the mysteries to be unraveled in The Chosen One.

The Beginning of a Great Fantasy Story: Is the Netflix Series The Chosen One Worth It?

Visually, The Chosen One is a good one Surprise in the Netflix uniform. The sequences in 1999 are shown in the narrow 4:3 image format and convince with their cinematic look, which savors the landscape of Mexico.

Netflix

An incredibly beautiful Netflix series

The series is more than that Indie film with a coming-of-age story and a pinch of mysticism as a bombastic high-gloss fantasy: a bit of City of God, a pinch of Stand by Me – The Secret of a Summer and a touch of American Gods.

The first season of The Chosen One consists of only six episodes, which promise an entertaining binge with a running time of around 40 minutes each. The plot is based on the first of a total of three volumes of the comic template. So there is enough material for further seasons.

But if The Chosen One joins the ranks of Netflix’s numerous cancellations, that would be frustrating. Then the series would with a nasty cliffhanger and lots of unanswered questions end up.
