The Promised Neverland is a fantastic anime series – with drawbacks. While the outstanding first season was celebrated by fans, the second and final season was met with massive criticism.
Although the manga template offered enough material for several seasons, the story was radically shortened and changed and brought to an end in just 11 episodes. The disastrous finale was punished by viewers with an IMDB rating of 2.8.
But don’t let that put you off. The first season of The Promised Neverland is an excellent and exciting anime work in its own right, and you can safely skip the sequel.
