Single mother Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and her son move into an old property. But it soon becomes clear that the building is a real haunted house. The owner then hires a tour guide (Lakeith Stanfield), a medium (Tiffany Haddish), a priest (Owen Wilson) and a historian (Danny DeVito) to get rid of the uninvited spirits as quickly as possible. But of course not everything goes as planned.

Like the Eddie Murphy film The Haunted Mansion from 2003, which has almost the same name, Haunted Mansion is based on a Disney ride: The Haunted Mansion opened at Disneyland in 1969. According to The Numbers, Disney put a $157 million production budget into the film. However, worldwide revenue only came in at $110 million.
It is questionable whether Haunted Mansion will become a long-lasting series like in the case of Pirates of the Caribbean. You can now stream the film at a flat rate on Disney+.
