Fans can still be happy

The anime series Demon Slayer receives no 5th season for now. But that’s not as bad as it sounds. Koyoharu Gotoge’s manga will still be adapted, after all it is one of the most successful titles of all time.

The next step is to create an anime adaptation of the so-called Infinity Castle Arc… just not in series form.

The Demon Slayer anime continues as a multi-part film series

Instead of a new season, there is now a Demon Slayer film trilogy planned. As Crunchyroll reports, this is to receive a worldwide cinema release in cooperation with Sony Pictures Entertainment. There is no date yet for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, but there is an announcement teaser:

This will not be Demon Slayer’s first foray into the cinema. In addition to the anime series with four seasons and 63 episodes, there are already three films. Most recently, the Hashira Training Arc was adapted and released in early 2024 as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Training the Pillars. The first film, Demon Slayer – The Movie: Mugen Train, even managed to become the most successful international film of 2020 during the pandemic.

What is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba about?

The manga and anime series is about Tanjiro Kamado, who controls the forces of darkness during the Taisho period of Japan (1912 to 1926) after his family was killed and his sister Nezuko was turned into a demon. With her and his katana, Tanjiro travels through the country to protect those he loves.

The manga already includes 23 volumes and has sold over 150 million copies.
