In League of Legends there was a bizarre incident on Friday, February 14th. The Slovenian ADC Juš “Crwonie” Marušič competed in the semi -finals of the NLC for the Los Ratones team. But he had to treat himself to a break because he suffered from a serious illness, but still delivered a strong performance. Some fans of LOL even compare him with basketball star Michael Jordan.
That was the match: It was the semi -finals of the playoffs in the regional league NLC. Anyone who won moved into the final. For the loser we went down to Loser’s Bracket. The 2 best teams in the league met:
Los Ratones is the team of the hour. Coach Caedrel has former elite players in the team with Rekkles, Crownie and Nemesis. Los Ratones has been dominating e-sports on Twitch for weeks
Nord also has 4 ex-professionals to offer and the largest German Twitch streamer Noway in the Midlane. So far, Nord has won everything in the league, except for the opening match against Los Ratones.
Former German LOL professional is one of the most successful Twitch streamers today-that’s Noway

26-year-old plays heavily stricken
That was special about the game: The Los Ratones ADC, Crownie ADC, played the game with a disease because he had to skip some training matches. In the run -up to the match, people had even considered putting it on the bench. Coach Caedrel would then have come to the team as a support and Rekkles would have changed from his current support role to the earlier position as a Botlaner. But that didn’t happen.
Crownie apparently played and suffered from nausea throughout the game. He played with a bucket next to the computer table. At the time, the fans assumed that he had food poisoning.
In the middle of the match, Crownie called out a break, jumped up from his computer at home and left the room. Apparently to hand over. When he was back in the square, it was asked briefly: “Everything okay?” Then it went on.
So it went out: Los Ratones defeated North in 4 matches with 3-1 and Crownie came to an end. The Jungler Velja in particular decided the game in favor of Los Ratones. While top Laner Baus died once again as often as it seems somehow possible.
The German streamer Noway bravely held up against the 7-year-old, former professional player Nemesis and was able to score more kills at least in 2 out of 4 games than he died himself.
Performance of LOL player is compared to Michael Jordan
This is how it is discussed: The fans who know about Crownie’s condition are impressed by the performance of the ADC. At the time immediately after the match, they assumed that Crownie had food poisoning.
A fan says on Reddit: “This is really crazy that he played. Food poisoning is really bad. I couldn’t even leave the bathroom for 5 minutes when I had it. Unimaginable to play a professional match. “
Another compares the performance of Crownie with the legendary “Flu Game” by Michael Jordan.
The basketball legend was seriously ill in 1997, but it was the 5th game in the NBA finals. It went against Utah Jazz with Karl Malone and John Stockton. From Jordan’s point of view, the game was a preliminary decision. He had to play, it cost what it wanted.
The legend says: Jordan was seriously ill, sweating and shaking up by his personal trainer on the morning of the game. He suffered from a bad pizza from the previous evening from food poisoning.
Although the doctors said Jordan that he could play impossible, he insisted that he would compete, stepped down again, got up shortly before the game and led his team to victory with 38 points. To date, this is considered one of the most legendary sporting performance of all time.
Crownie says he had a gastrointestinal flu
That says Crownie himself: In another video, the 26-year-old (via YouTube) explained that it was not a food poisoning, but a gastrointestinal flu that he had taken when his aunt visited him.
In a clip after the match, Crownie says with a smile: he was overwhelmed by feelings that he needed a break. Apparently he prefers to be seen in this way than in the successor of Jordan.
The story of Los Ratones has inspired many fans of League of Legends for months. This is a team that consists of former professionals who are now streaming and also transferring the parts of their sport that are usually hidden from the eyes of the fans: an insignificant regional league makes LOL the biggest game on Twitch
