Hobbyist Jake Laser is a well-known YouTuber who recreates technical devices from films, series and anime. The inventor has even managed to build a fully functional 3D maneuvering device. With it, he can pull himself up walls and even take down fake titans.
What does the 3D maneuver equipment look like in real life? In a YouTube video, Jake Laser shows how he built the equipment. He used a launch tube, a rope, two dart-shaped hooks and a powerful motor. Over time, he managed to build a stable system that can even pull him up walls.
The two launch tubes are located on either side of the hips, just like in the anime. They are attached with a belt so that they can ensure a stable trajectory of the darts.
The hobbyist was even able to recreate the swords that the reconnaissance troop uses in the anime. He created two handles that can drop the blunt blades at the push of a button. He has hidden fresh blades in his equipment that can easily be put back on the handles.
You can see the fully functional equipment and the development up to that point here:

Does it work? Towards the end of the video, Jake Laser can even be seen pulling himself up walls. He tests his equipment on a barn wall and climbs up it. He wears a motorcycle helmet for safety.
Even the swords he made are fully functional. He tests the weapons on a fake Titan, which is simply a balloon. Jake Laser attacks the Titan from behind in the neck, just like in the anime. Special effects cause steam to escape from the Colossal Titan.
What is the 3D maneuver equipment? The 3D maneuvering device allows the reconnaissance squad to move quickly between tall buildings and in forests. This keeps them agile and gives them an advantage over the usually slower Titans.
The biggest disadvantage of the device is that it is powered by gas. In the anime, it often happens that the gas bottles run out at important moments, which leaves the fighters defenseless.
In the anime, it takes several years for the students to learn how to use the equipment. It is all the more astonishing that Jake Laser manages it even faster. However, we have to admit that he does not swing the equipment around as elegantly and nimbly as the Titan hunters from Attack on Titan.

What do fans say about it? There are numerous admirers in the comments under the YouTube video. They think that Jake Laser would show what an incredible talent he has with this equipment. However, one user notes that there is a difference to the anime: In the anime, both sides can be fired separately, but not with the real equipment.
Both the manga and the anime for Attack on Titan have now ended. The mangaka is now devoting himself to a completely new project that has nothing to do with man-eating titans: Attack on Titan: The creator is working on a new manga after 10 years – Even the voice of Eren is involved
