Six people, including a 17-year-old mother and her six-month-old child, have been killed in a shooting at a residence in central California in the United States.
The call about gunfire outside the city of Visalia, in the heart of California’s farmland, came in at 3:30 a.m. Monday local time.
At the scene, the police found two dead people in the street and a third in the doorway to the home. Two more people shot to death were found in the home, as well as a man who was still alive but later died in hospital.
The police are looking for at least two suspected perpetrators. The police suspect connections to gang crime, as the house was searched during a house search a week earlier.
Two of the victims, the young mother and her child, were shot in the head, according to police.
– We do not believe that this was random violence. We believe it was aimed at the family, says police officer Mike Boudreaux.
