Marcus perhaps the greatest success came during the 2012/2013 season, when he won the Champions League with the Russian club Lokomotiv Novosibirsk. He took the most points by all players in the competition and was named the tournament’s most valuable player (MVP).
Between 2006 and 2008, Marcus Nilsson won the Greek league twice with the club Iraqlis Thessaloniki, and was appointed League’s MVP 2008.
-My three years in Iraqlis Thessaloniki (2006-2009) is probably the best time so far in my life. Greece is a fantastic country, with fantastic people, incredibly cool supporter culture and the memories from when we won the league title in both 2007 and 2008 will live with me forever, Marcus Nilsson has previously told Swedish volleyball.
