To support the French wallets eaten away by inflation, the Minister of the Economy announced the revaluation of family allowances. How much are they for 1, 2, 3 or 4 or more children? Answer.
This is good news for all large families. Family allowances will increase in 2024, to help the French cope with inflation.
+ 4.8% in 2024
Bruno Le Maire confirmed it on October 29: from April 1, 2024, the amount of social assistance paid by the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) will be increased and will gain 4.8 points.
Concretely, for families with 2 children and whose annual income does not exceed 75,804.98 euros, the monthly amount of allowances will increase from 141.99 euros to 148.80 euros.
Households with three children will receive 339.43 euros instead of 323.91 euros and for families with 4 children, the amount of aid will increase by 23 euros, for a total amount of 529.48 euros.
196.23 euros will then be paid for each additional child.
As a reminder, family allowances are paid to people with at least 2 dependent children under the age of 20. These are calculated based on resources, the number of dependent children and their age.
The RSA should also increase slightly
Family allowances are not the only ones to change: active solidarity income (RSA) is also subject to an increase.
From April 1, 2024, its amount will rise to 636.92 euros, for a single person, and 955.37 euros for a couple without children. Or respectively 29.17 euros and 43.75 euros more than last year.
This social assistance is open, under certain conditions, to people aged at least 25 and to young workers aged 18 to 24 if they are single parents or have a certain length of professional activity.
