The arrival of the flex homes did not go without a hitch. Local residents and residents of Hooglanderveen were not happy with the plans, to say the least. The place, without facilities nearby, would be anything but a good place for these temporary homes. The lack of shops, public transport and schools, but with a coffee shop just around the corner, would only increase nuisance. In addition, the road would be too dangerous to build so many homes.
