A list of charges against former President Donald Trump was temporarily posted on the Fulton County website in the state of Georgia on Monday.
The document emerged as a grand jury began hearing witnesses to determine whether there is enough evidence to indict Trump for trying to influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
Reuters news agency reported on the list and that it was quickly removed from the website. A spokesperson for prosecutor Fani Willis said the list of charges was “incorrect”, but declined to comment further.
It is generally expected that the prosecutor will present the charges before the grand jury. Willis has spent two and a half years scrutinizing initiatives taken by Trump and others to reverse the results of the Georgia election, where President Joe Biden won by a narrow margin.
