Amazon Prime unveiled one of its biggest series blockbusters on Thursday: Fallout. The story takes you to a post-apocalyptic world that is the result of a devastating nuclear war. The basis is that video game series of the same name from the house of Bethesda. It can already be said: The Fallout film adaptation is a success.
After the eight episodes of the first season, the question arises as to when and how the story will continue. Does Fallout as a series have a future on Amazon Prime? Nothing has been officially confirmed yet. The first information about the 2nd season however, give hope. It looks like we can definitely look forward to a sequel to the eschatological sci-fi epic.
Is Fallout Season 2 coming to Amazon Prime?
It looks like Amazon Prime already has Fallout Season 2 secretly green light given. At least that’s what a report from Variety suggests, in which the production of the new episodes is discussed. The California Film Commission is supporting the filming of the second season with $25 million.

The debut season of Fallout was primarily filmed in New York. Utah also served as the production site for the exciting sci-fi adventure starring Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins and Kyle MacLachlan. Now the production should begin relocated to California in order to make use of the tax concessions.
Fallout Season 2’s total budget is $153 million. This is what the series plays with in the same league like the elaborate Netflix production 3 Body Problem, whose first season also includes eight episodes and has a budget of 160 million US dollars, i.e. 20 million US dollars per episode.
When does Fallout Season 2 start on Amazon Prime?
This question cannot yet be answered. There are probably only vague story ideas for how the story will continue. We are talking about finished scripts or even the start of filming still very far away. We shouldn’t expect Fallout Season 2 to start as early as April 2025.
We are probably dealing with a blockbuster series à la House of the Dragon and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which like to take two years between seasons for production. So it seems more likely at the moment that the second season of Fallout sometime in 2026 arrives.
