Fallout 76 has broken the 17 million player mark, reveals new content for 2024

Bethesda has positive news for all fans of the survival MMO Fallout 76. The game is still popular 5 years after its release. There will be a lot of new content in 2024, but the development team will change its focus slightly.

How popular is Fallout 76? Bethesda is pleased that the MMO has broken the 17 million player mark. This probably means the accounts created since the release in 2018. In June 2023 there were still 15 million players.

But the game is not only a success in terms of its running time: Fallout 76 is currently ranked 8th among the most played MMORPGs on Steam. In the past 24 hours, the peak number of players was 11,266. The title is also available for PS4 and Xbox One, which is why the actual number of players will be higher.

The high number of players ensures that Bethesda is still actively working on Fallout 76. The development team has announced new content for the coming year that players can look forward to.

What new content are the developers promising? At the end of the year, Fallout 76 received an update with “Road to Atlantic City,” which includes a casino. The following content will follow next year:

  • The second part of the Atlantic City update is scheduled to follow in spring 2024. In “America’s Playground” players meet Jersey Devil and receive new quests, areas and rewards.
  • A new, large area in the south of the map will be developed later in 2024. The area takes players to forested Shenandoah. There are new quests, factions and rewards here.
  • The team wants to focus more on seasonal events in 2024. There will be even more seasonal events with fresh rewards. Bethesda wants to introduce completely new seasonal events that have never existed before.

    What else is coming to the Fallout IP? Fallout fans can look forward not only to the upcoming content in 2024, but also to a new series. This is a live-action adaptation that will be shown on Amazon Prime from April 12, 2024.
