Apart from English and mother tongue, the percentage of students failing is also increasing – and in several subjects the increase is sharp.
According to Björn Öckert, professor of economics at the Institute for Labor Market and Education Policy Evaluation (IFAU), the explanation is probably that the national exams are back after the pandemic.
