(Finance) – Creating a system for the more sustainable energy production, efficient and technologically advanced, capable of making a concrete contribution to the reduction of CO2 emissions. It is the aim of the modern trigeneration plant with a power of 2.7 MW of electricity and 1.9 MW of refrigeration produced by Genera Group – Energy & Sustainability Services Company specialized in projects in the energy efficiency and decarbonization sector – at the Fainplast of Ascoli Picenoa company at the forefront of the production of plastic material in granular form used in a large number of sectors.
The project, carried out by Genera under a ten-year Operating Lease contract, falls within the support strategies that Genera Group offers to its industrial customers for the creation of generation systems energy efficient and for the consequent reduction in consumption. The Ascoli Piceno plant is an extremely efficient trigeneration plant, built in collaboration with AB Energy and Noleggio Energia, which has the capacity to generate heat, cold and electricity with a saving of over 1500 tons CO2/year equal to approximately 68,000 trees planted.
The innovative one is active from today monitoring system implemented in collaboration with EGO Energy, thanks to which Genera will be able to provide continuous and real-time support in the efficient management of energy generation and consumption systems.
Trigeneration allows for achieve overall energy savings of more than 30% compared to traditional systems, thanks to the simultaneous production of electrical, thermal and refrigeration energy by efficiently exploiting the waste heat produced by the combustion of methane gas: it therefore has a lower environmental impact because it allows the same amount of energy to be produced with a lower consumption of fossil fuels. Furthermore, an “in-house” generation system increases system security and continuity of the company’s energy supply, reducing exposure to possible interruptions in the national electricity grid. Trigeneration can also be powered by biogas or biomethane, allowing the potential of renewable energy sources to be exploited to the fullest and CO2 emissions from the production site to be eliminated.
“The plant created for Fainplast is a virtuous model suitable for different types of companies, not only large ones, which intend optimize your energy supply system reducing its environmental impact – he declared Filippo Ghirelli, Executive Chairman of Genera Group – The Fainplast case is a testimony to Genera Group’s ability to support the Italian production system in the search for best solutions and technologies in the field of energy efficiency and decarbonisation”.
