Fails Bug and collapses the game

Former Twitch star DrDisrespect has his own vertical shooter in development called DEADROP: On October 24th. he showed the game in a live stream on YouTube. Although he tried to show everyone how great the vertical shooter is and how much fun it is, at one point the DrDisrespect as we know it came out.

What kind of game is this?

  • Before becoming an influencer and professional mustachioed man, DrDisrespect worked as a map designer for Call of Duty. Because gaming has disappointed him in recent years (and because you can never have enough money), he is currently developing his own shooter with a team, DEADROP.
  • The game is still in an early production phase and is intended to be an extraction shooter: The games are about collecting loot and bringing it to safety. When you die, all the beautiful loot you’ve fought for up to that point is gone.
  • The special feature of DEADROP: It’s supposed to be a vertical shooter. The map goes up, with elevators and ladders making the battle arena look like a high-rise with many floors under construction. You often fire downwards or upwards. If you know DrDisrespect, you also know how important audio design is to him: you have to be able to hear opponents.
  • DrDisrespect was a celebrity on Twitch – his ban is still a big secret today

DrDisrespect fails on a zip line

This was the bug: DrDisrespect saw an enemy on an opposite floor on the map “Proving Ground: Atrium” and came up with the plan to coolly hang from a zip line and then glide through the air with all guns blazing and take out the monster.

He could have noticed that the plan was a bit shaky, because the “Interact” logo with the cable car flashed unstable and kept disappearing.

A “zipline” is a means of transportation in Shooter that allows you to get up and down buildings across the map. You can usually fire yourself and be shot at. Ziplines are primarily used for action – you shouldn’t ask too much about logic or physics.

As he tried to grab the zipline, the 41-year-old watched as his character desperately reached for the line but couldn’t get a hold of it.

To the Doctor’s horror, his character fell helplessly several meters down and died miserably on impact. “Self-Termination,” the game reported coolly.

This is how DrDisrespect reacted: He seemed to stay calm at first, scratching his nose, but then shouted at the top of his lungs: “Grab her, grab her.”

If you know DrDisrespct, you know that he usually can’t control himself after such a tantrum and complains for minutes about the “incompetent developers” and in an angry speech argues that gaming as a whole and the shooter genre in particular is going to the dogs. that everything is terrible and that he is now immediately uninstalling the game, never touching it again and demanding a personal apology from the developers.

But because DEADROP is its own game, the story continued differently this time: DrDisrespect was still yelling to himself a bit, but quickly calmed down, got a few kills and even praised the game, saying it was simply fantastic.

DEADROP tailored to DrDisrespect and his fans

How does the game work? You can tell DrDisrespect is enjoying the game: it’s exactly the kind of game he loves. He can snipe, shoot from close range, set traps and listen for enemies.

This seems like a game where you can understand why DrDisrespect built it or had it built.

How the shooter will perform “in the wild” and whether it will be a hit is now difficult to say. But DEADROP is obviously designed to appeal to DrDisrespect’s target group: It also looks like a real game in contrast to games like the ones the German Twitch streamer MontanaBlack once presented.

People in the community are already joking: the poor programmer who is responsible for the zipline must have been watching the stream with a very uneasy feeling.

We reported on DrDisrespect’s company in 2022. Even if she can boast such a great figurehead and frontman, there are obviously problems with such “dream jobs”:
