Halvor Egner Granerud injured his knee when the training jump failed.
Norwegian star Halvor Egner Granerud suffered a knee injury during practice and will not be able to compete in the Trondheim World Championships starting next week. The injury occurred on Wednesday when Granerud, 28, failed his jump in the lower Lillehammer.
– I had been waiting for home races since they were given to Trondheim. But sports give and sports take, Granerud commented on Friday at a media event.
Granerud, who was selected for the Norwegian spruce in the World Cup, missed the previous World Cup in Sapporo to practice towards the World Cup. The Norwegian Ski Association names his replacement after the Continental Cup, which will be competing in the United States this weekend.
Granerud was number one in the Men’s World Cup overall in 2022-2023.
