F1 Hungarian GP At what time and on which channel

HUNGARY GP – The 2024 Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix will be held this Sunday, July 21, at the Hungaroring circuit near Budapest. Here is all the practical information to make sure you don’t miss anything from the race.

F1 fans will once again be reunited with their favourite sport this Sunday, July 21, for the 13th round of the 2024 world championship, the Hungarian Grand Prix. Near Budapest, the drivers will have to watch out for changeable weather since the start of the weekend on a circuit that has often held surprises or crowned drivers for the first time. Fernando Alonso in 2003, Jenson Button in 2006 and Esteban Ocon in 2021 won their first Grand Prix success there.

While overtaking opportunities are rather rare on the Hungaroring, one of the most twisty and narrow permanent circuits of the F1 season, the start often offers a great spectacle with a hairpin that is difficult to approach in the pack. Its multiple trajectories and its tighter exit can surprise more than one and cause a few broken wings. Beware of the collision! To not miss this start, See you shortly before 3 p.m. on Canal +.

Here is the program for this Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix:

  • 09:55: long Formula 2 race on Canal+ Sport.
  • 1:55 p.m.: La Grille show on Canal+
  • 3:55 p.m.: the Grand Prix on Canal+
  • 4:45 p.m.: the podium on Canal+
  • 5 p.m.: the “Formula One” show on Canal+

Will the Hungaroring turnstile, one of the most twisty and narrow permanent circuits of the F1 season, once again see the solid leader of the world championship, Max Verstappen, be manhandled? The triple reigning world champion has seen the breath of McLaren tickle his neck for several races and the qualifying session on Saturday of the Hungarian Grand Prix confirmed the situation with the one-two of the orange single-seaters of the Woking team. Lando Norris took pole position ahead of his Australian teammate Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen, only third and visibly disappointed.

Being overtaken is not easy on the Hungaroring but the Dutchman did not give up, having multiplied the long stints on hard tyres during free practice, visibly focused on race pace and tyre management. Behind them, the Ferraris of Carlos Saine and Charles Leclerc, and the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton will be lying in ambush. Trapped in Q1 by a strategic error, George Russell in the other Mercedes will only start 17th ahead of the two Alpines of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly 19th and 20th. The session was also marked by the spectacular off-track excursion of Sergio Perez who destroyed his Red Bull in Q1. The Mexican, more in the hot seat than ever, will start from 16th place on the grid.
