Formula One Designer Guru Adrian Newey was recruited by Aston Martin with a polling and perennial contract last fall.
Adrian Newey Let’s be considered the best F1 car designer of all time. He started his job at Aston Martin on Monday.
The 66-year-old British, who prefers a pen and paper rather than super computers, moved to Aston Martin Red Bell.
– His office is ready, the drawing table is ready there, the team manager Andy Cowell reported in Bahrain’s tests.
His new office is located on Aston Martin’s Silverstone campus, in the middle of the designer army.
– I think it means I’m the last dinosaur in this field. It’s what I grew up now.
– I like being able to sketch on a decent scale. At the drawing table, I like that I can set up all things, Newey talked to Reuters.
Newey’s departure Red Bell was announced last May and in September Aston Martin confirmed that he had hired Design gurun.
The cars designed by Newey have won as many as twelve manufacturers’ championships for Williams, McLaren and Red Bull, and a total of 223 races since 1991.
Newey earn wildly
The Red Bull, designed in 2023, was the most dominant stable in F1 history, winning 21 races out of 22.
Aston Martin, where the 43-year-old Spanish double world champion Fernando Alonso and the son of a team owner Lance Strollnever won anything in Formula 1 and finished fifth last season.
Canadian billionaire, partially owned by Aston Martin Lawrence Stroll described Newey as “inexpensive”.
The BBC has said that Newey earns about EUR 35.5 million a year-for F1 series drivers only Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton earned more last season.
Cowell, a former Mercedes engine manager, was appointed Aston Martin’s team manager in January. He believes Newey will bring an immediate effect.
– Everyone is excited to work with Adrian. His achievements speak for themselves. We look forward to getting our new employee oriented. It may be a little different than usual, Cowell laughed.
Newey is the first to show the car design business tools.
“And then we will start developing the 2026 car and also helping to improve this year’s car,” Cowell, Aston Martin’s team manager, outlined.
