The US National Meteorological Service has warned of “extremely hot weather” in the northeastern cities of the country, especially in Boston, New York and Washington DC.
It was stated that the hot air, which is described as “compressed heat and humidity”, affects 190 million people across the country and this poses a risk to public health.
The New York office of the National Meteorological Service stated that the extremely hot weather is expected to last two days, and the air temperature will reach 39 degrees Celsius in places, and called on the people not to go out and use air conditioning unless they have to.
In the Washington DC and Baltimore regions, it was warned that the temperature could rise to 43.3 degrees Celsius.
The public was asked to take the necessary precautions.
Phoenix, Arizona, broke the record with a temperature of at least 43 degrees Celsius without interruption for 28 days, while Miami, Florida, stayed at around 38 degrees Celsius for 46 days and El Paso, Texas for 42 days.
It was noted that extreme heat will continue to break records in the Ohio Valley, Mississippi River Valley and southern regions.
Officials also noted the danger of wildfires in California, Idaho, Montana and Nevada due to high heat, wind and low humidity.
