– There are three times as many now as there were at the beginning of December, says Kenth Nauclér who is vaccine coordinator at the Norslund health center in Falun.
At the health center in Norslund, they now vaccinate 180 people a day at pre-booked times, and they also offer drop-in to catch up. It is both the seasonal flu vaccine and also the Covid vaccine that people want.
Getting help from pensioners to catch up
Should demand increase further, there is a large group of retired nurses with a syringe habit who can be called on.
One of them is Elisabeth Matz, who is also the vaccine coordinator at the health centre.
– They wouldn’t manage here without us pensioners, she says and laughs.
She herself has to call in retired nurses every day to manage to give syringes to everyone who wants a vaccine.
