If you’re looking for a thriller that gets more exciting by the minute, Les Misérables could be just the thing for you. The film tells about three police officers who are in the Parisian banlieue Montfermeil are faced with a situation that is completely out of control.
Nerve-wracking thriller on TV: The Angry – Les Misérables tells of the unrest in the Paris suburbs
Specifically, the action takes place in summer 2018. Police officer Stéphane (Damien Bonnard) is new to Montfermeil and quickly realizes that his colleagues, Chris (Alexis Manenti) and Gwada (Djibril Zonga), don’t take the law too seriously. To ensure order, they lay it out according to their own ideas.
Stéphane tries to act according to the rules, but at some point he has to admit that he’s not getting anywhere. The fronts in the social hotspot have completely hardened. At first there is a lot of shouting, then violence takes the place of harsh words, until the escalation claims the first victims.

The Angry Ones – Les Misérables premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2019 and was later even released as Best International Film nominated at the 2020 Oscars. Director and screenwriter Ladj Ly has created a stirring, stirring piece of cinema that shocks with authentic images.
Three years later, Ly was involved as a screenwriter and producer on a very similar film that played like a Continuation in spirit feels: Athena.
