Extremely controversial Star Wars film of which there is a

A little over four years ago, Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker, the final chapter of the Skywalker saga, hit theaters. The film not only brings the sequel trilogy to a close, but also builds a link to the previous episodes of the saga, including hidden Jedi cameos. Today you can watch it on TV.

However, Episode 9 was not planned from the beginning under the title The Rise of Skywalker. Before JJ Abrams took on the project, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow and his longtime writing partner Derek Connolly were involved in the making of the film. They wrote a script Star Wars 9: Duel of the Fates.

Duel of Fates: The original version of Star Wars 9 tells a completely different story

The story of Duel of the Fates differs in more than nuances from the film that we saw in the cinema as Episode 9. Actually, we have one completely different story to do. Trevorrow and Connolly’s vision sets its own priorities, starting with the big villain.

Palpatine, who returns from the afterlife in The Rise of Skywalker, is completely missing from Duel of the Fates except for a hologram. Another well-known Star Wars villain would have appeared for this: Darth Vader was supposed to fight Kylo Ren – in a scene reminiscent of Luke and Vader’s confrontation in the cave on Dagobah.

Over the past few years, more and more information about Duel of the Fates has come to light. Last but not least, the entire script even leaked at one point. A Star Wars fan took this as an opportunity to present the alternative version of Episode 9 in the form of a 166 minute (!) motion comics to bring to life.

Characters like Rose, Finn and Poe have a much larger arc in this version. At the beginning there is something like this Capture a Star Destroyer, before we find ourselves in the streets of Coruscant for the final battle. Of course, a duel between Rey and Kylo cannot be missed, as well as the force ghosts of Luke, Obi-Wan and Yoda.
