Snowy weather and lightning sleet make it difficult for traffic. At least five cars are involved in a mass crash at the Märsta intersection on the E4 northbound towards Uppsala.
Two people have been taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment and control, the police write on their website. One lane is still open to traffic but police warn that it is extremely slippery at the scene.
The emergency services report on an intense night in the country with alarms about several traffic accidents and trees that have fallen across roads.
– It has been an interesting night. It has been a lot for them, says Håkan Eriksson, management operator at the rescue service, to Aftonbladet.
