At the foot of the slalom slope in Luossavaara in Kiruna, Jonas Böhlmark has set up his small tunnel tent. This has become Jonas Böhlmark’s temporary home for a few days while he waits for equipment for the next stage of his extreme challenge.
He needs running shoes to be able to run the 18 mile long road to Narvik. There he will get into a canoe and paddle along the entire Norwegian coast.
Hard physical exertion
How did he get here then?
Yes, by running from Northern Norway to Treriksröset, further on a paddleboard on the lake and river system to Tornio, run through Finland, cycle through Northern Europe, run to Mora and then ski the last bit to Kiruna.
It has been months of almost inhumanly hard physical exertion. Only in Finland he ran a marathon a day and slept outdoors at night.
Increase knowledge about mental illness
So why these challenges?
– The aim is to increase knowledge and reduce the stigma of bipolar disorder, says Jonas Böhlmark.
In the clip, he gives some glimpses from his own films from the adventures.
