After the recent wave of violence, the police have now decided to add additional reinforcements to the Stockholm region.
About a hundred intervention police officers will be on site within the next few days “to prevent more murders from occurring in the ongoing conflicts and to increase surveillance in the majority of places”, the authority writes in a press release.
The decision applies for the next two weeks and the police come from all police regions in Sweden.
Mattias Andersson, acting regional police chief, says that the addition is “very welcome”.
