Extensive changes to the legendary race – will the solution be seen in Jämsä’s megapart or Kankkunen’s home corners?

EPN in Eastern Ukraine People are very worried This will

The Jyväskylä World Rally Championship will return for four days and the beginning of August. About half of the special stages have changed from last year and ten per cent are completely in the World Rally Championships before driving.

will show and explain in its channels the 4th – 7th World Championship Rally in Jyväskylä. August 2022.

The route of the Finnish World Rally Championship has been published. Compared to 2021, about half of the route of the World Championships in Central Finland has been renewed.

The Jyväskylä World Rally Championship has been run since 1951, but almost ten percent of previously unpaved road sections have been included in the 2022 rally.

– The route has now been changed quite a bit. Major changes have been made to the Harju special exam, among other things. On Thursday, there will be so-called double laps on Harju. A new kind of entertainment can be seen in the center of Jyväskylä, says the competition director to Urheilu Kai Tarkiainen.

– New special stages have been developed for Saturday. Vekkula is one that in some respects has never been driven before. A megapixel has been made in Jämsä, where the old Kakaristo and Arvaja have been combined into a special exam for Rapsula, and it will certainly cause difficulties for many drivers with their rhythm changes, Tarkiainen continues with examples of the changes.

Last year, the rally was three-day, but now it will return to four-day, when the most popular special stage, Harju City, will be seen on Thursday night in its new version. On Thursday, the Harju special stage is 3.5 kilometers long, while on Friday it will be run for 2 kilometers.

So viewers have a chance to see the same car a couple of times on Thursday night because of the “double”.

– This is a great start to the weekend, says the deputy race director and route manager in the press release. Kari Nuutinen.

The first full day of driving starts on the Laukaa lap. Lankamaa, which is driven twice, is the longest special stage of the rally, just over 21 kilometers.

– Now we return to the world champion Juha Kankkusen for home corners for the special exam in Lankamaa, which has been really requested from us, Nuutinen comments.

The special stages for Thursday and Friday are shown below. The story continues after the graphics.

Competition director Tarkiainen says that traditionally the decision day in the Jyväskylä World Rally Championship has been Saturday.

– Of course, sometimes there is a difference of tithing until Sunday. Personally, I think that the Rapsula piece mentioned this year and the new Vekkula are the special tests that may surprise and make drastic differences between drivers.

Nuutinen also glows Vekkula’s special stage and says that he will especially raise the hat for the route team. To Jussi Pummila.

– Vekkula closes Saturday, and that decision is not easy, but the drivers must be awake until the end. In addition to the different types of roads, the special test includes, for example, 15 intersections, so the sense of rhythm and the note must be in place, Nuutinen predicts.

No mistakes will be forgiven in the Jyväskylä Rally

Last year, the Jyväskylä rally was disappointing for Finns. Kalle Rovanperän The victories of victory crumbled at the latest in the EK run when the Finn lost control of his car on a stretch of the Patajoki River and collided with a pile of sand on the side of the road.

Last year, the race was named after Toyota Elfyn Evans before the Hyundai duo Ott Tänak and Craig Breen. The best Finn, fourth, was with Toyota Esapekka Lapland.

The previous Finnish winner is Lapland, which celebrated in Central Finland in the 2017 season. Toyota’s current team manager Jari-Matti Latvala won “Jyskälä” in 2010, 2014 and 2015.

Tarkiainen sees the difficulty of the Jyväskylä World Rally Championship based on the fact that it is an extremely fast rally. The accuracy and confidence of the notes is emphasized compared to many other rallies.

– The pace is such that they do not forgive. If you make a small mistake, it will pay off really big. The error may not appear as a run-out, but if you go somewhere unnecessarily to the brake, the penalty for time loss will be greater than in many other rallies.

In addition, according to Tarkiainen, the drivers have highlighted the differences in the height of the Jyväskylä Rally. They have surprised many who are driving for the first time in Jyväskylä – how, for example, the crossings of pimples are taken into account in the notation and how the next bend is approached after them.

We want to return the old meininki to the service area – “New hybrid cars on display in Finland for the first time”

Changes to last year are not limited to routes. Last year, the Jyväskylä World Rally Championship was exceptionally run in the autumn from 30 September to 3 October. It was an exceptionally late time, but the goal was to get more audiences as corona restrictions plagued the summer.

Now the rally will return to its place at the beginning of August, 4-7. August.

– In terms of arrangements, we go with a fairly similar machinery. The route is somewhat longer and requires a little more support than last fall. On the other hand, at that time in the summer, people are still on vacation, so it is easier to get help from the workforce. We believe that this is an easier time to organize, Tarkiainen says.

The audience is also likely to return to normal, although Tarkiainen points out that the crowd also found it great for the autumn race.

– Preparations for this will be made better, especially from the EK organizers, with better service provision, ie more kiosks will be set up in the forests. There will be no changes on behalf of security arrangements and others, in the sense of a basic set, Tarkiainen inches.

A particularly significant change is that the public will have access to the service area when it was closed to spectators last year.

Now we want to raise the rally hoop again at the Jyväskylä Pavilion Competition Center, which is filled with side events and activities.

– We want to bring back such an old meining that it is a meeting place for the rally people in the middle of the city, Tarkiainen paints.

– The new hybrid cars are on display in Finland for the first time. There will be four maintenance sessions in the pavilion area on Friday and three on Saturday. There is a lot to see there, Tarkiainen reminds.

The next World Rally Championship will be held in Croatia on 21-24. April. Rovanperä leads the World Championships after winning the Swedish World Rally Championship in February. The first race, in January in Monte Carlo, was won by an veteran of M-Sport Ford Sebastien Loebwhich no longer runs a full calendar this season.

Tarkiainen hopes and believes that the Jyväskylä World Rally Championship will be solved by driving, even though the new hybrid cars have had their problems from the beginning of the season.

– They may confuse the race, so the differences may not be made with special tests, but may be due to technical issues. Surprisingly few cars, however, have had any “pediatrics”, so I’m confident we’ll see a really nice and fast-paced rally in the sunny summer weather.

will follow the events of the Jyväskylä World Rally Championship on 4–7. August. will show in the Arena and application from the beginning to the end of each special stage of the World Rally Championship in Jyväskylä, and the legendary Rally Radio will also follow the race.
