Many people involved

Rune Vedeler believes that there are many people who may be involved in the accident.

The police will therefore question witnesses and the affected mechanic to try to find out what happened. Investigations have also been carried out by forensic experts.

The bus, as per Bussmagasinet.no is of the Chinese brand Yutong, part of the bus company Tides’ fleet.

At the time of the accident, the bus was being serviced by the operating company YES-EU, which is also the importer of the Yutong buses.

Indicates a short circuit in the electric bus

Initially, it was reported by the police that it was the bus’s battery that had exploded, but this information has now been refuted.

Instead, there are many indications that it is a short circuit in the bus’s high voltage system.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that there was a short circuit in the high voltage system in an electric bus that was under repair,” writes Marianne Frønsdal, press contact at the bus company Tide in a comment to BA.

This is confirmed by Gøran Rykkje, who is technical manager at YES-EU with responsibility for servicing the buses. Rykkje also says that no fire broke out in connection with the explosion.
