On the night of Monday, an explosion occurred on Närlundavägen in central Helsingborg. The detonation was triggered in a neighborhood, whose entrance was destroyed and also parts of the facade.
– Someone has placed something or thrown in something that detonated. It has led to quite a lot of material damage, the entrance is practically blown out, says officer on duty Jerker Olsson at the police region South.
The police do not yet know what detonated. No one was physically harmed.

The alarm was received by the police around 01:30. The police are classifying the incident as public-dangerous devastation. No one has yet been arrested at 03.30 and the police currently do not know who caused the explosion, or why.
– We will now hold interviews with the people involved, such as the shop owner and people who were at or near the site during the detonations, says Jerker Olsson.
– We are trying to catch people who may have seen or heard something, he says.
The police have set up cordons, and the bomb disposal together with forensics examines the scene to secure traces.
Several acts of violence in Helsingborg
Several acts of violence have affected Helsingborg this year, including explosions at residential buildings. Last yesterday, there was a shooting in the Västra Berga area, where several apartments were hit by bullets.
Are the previous events related to this explosion?
– It is too early to say, we have to investigate the incident first. But it can be stated that “ordinary people” rarely have access to explosives that cause this type of damage, says Jerker Olsson.
