An explosion has occurred at a cafe in Saint Petersburg, Russia. One person is dead and at least 16 people are said to have been injured in connection with the explosion, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The person who died is said to be the well-known military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky. The explosion occurred on Sunday afternoon at a cafe that, according to Russian media, is owned by the leader of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin. Images spread on social media show what appears to be an explosion inside the cafe. The explosion is strong enough to shatter all the windows in the room and push parts of the furniture out into the street. “We will kill everyone” Vladlen Tatarsky, whose real name is Maxim Fomin, was a well-known blogger and often expressed his support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Tatarsky has previously reported from the battlefields of Ukraine and had his big break last year, when he published a series of videos from inside the Kremlin. In the video clips, he says, among other things: – We will destroy everyone, we will kill everyone. The bomb is said to have been hidden inside a statuette handed to Tatarsky in a box, the Russian news agency RIA reports. There is currently no information about who or who may be behind the attack.
