Brokerage about Håkan Hellström’s luxury house
According to a judgment, a broker has the right to commission at Håkan Hellström’s exclusive summer house – despite the fact that another broker conveyed sales, writes Dagens Juridik.
A broker at a company in Alingsås was commissioned to convey the sale of a house with the starting price SEK 29.5 million. Håkan Hellström was one of the stakeholders in the broker’s customer register, but then contacted the property owner himself, with whom his father was acquainted.
The house was sold for SEK 30 million to the artist, just two days after the agreement on sales mediation expired with the broker and the sale took place with the help of another broker.
The first broker has reported the incident to the Gothenburg District Court and is now entitled to a commission of SEK 300,000.
According to the district court, the property owner should have understood that Håkan Hellström learned about the sale via the first broker.
