The explosion occurred in the Guzargah mosque in the city of Herat in western Afghanistan on Friday. More than 20 people are said to have been injured and at least 18 are said to be dead, according to AP.
According to reports, one of the dead is the cleric Mujib-ul Rahman Ansari, who has become known for criticizing Afghanistan’s Western governments over the past two decades.
