Shortly after 02:00 on Monday night, the police received a call from several people who heard a loud bang in Danderyd.
When the police arrived at the scene, they could ascertain that there had been a strong detonation at a gate to a villa in the area of Djursholm in Danderyd municipality.
– No one has been injured, says Per Fahlström, press spokesperson at the police.
The gate to the villa was blown open by the powerful explosion and windows of other villas nearby were also shattered by the pressure.
The police have started a preliminary investigation into public dangerous devastation and violations of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.
The area is cordoned off
The crime scene has been cordoned off pending a technical investigation.
– At the same time, we are working with other investigative measures such as door knocking and looking at possible camera surveillance. As well as looking for the perpetrator or perpetrators.
There are no arrests at this time.
