According to the news agency, the explosion occurred after two cars were set on fire outside the synagogue.

Something has detonated in a stairwell on Södergatan in Helsingborg.
The police received several calls about loud bangs in the area around 03:45.
– After a while we were able to find a stairwell where something had detonated and there is relatively extensive damage to the doors, roof, walls, says Magnus Lefévre.
The national bomb squad has been called there and residents in the stairwell are asked to remain in their apartments.
We are in the process of securing the location and then we work with witness interviews and see if there may be any person or activity in the property that may have had an intended threat image, but that is not clear at the moment, says Magnus Lefévre.
No one should be injured. No person has been deprived of liberty and the incident is classified as gross destruction of public danger.
At 05.30 the site was still cordoned off.
