An explosion has occurred at an apartment building in Enskede in southern Stockholm.
A large police operation is underway in the area.

An explosion has occurred at an apartment building in Enskede. Several of the residents in the area woke up and alerted the police.
– There was a loud bang and several people started calling us around 05.30, says Daniel Wikdahl.
There must have been a hole in the apartment, which must have been empty of people. No one should have been physically injured as a result of the detonation.
A large police operation is underway where they are looking for one or more perpetrators, but no one has yet been arrested. A cordon has been set up around the crime scene to search for clues and carry out a crime scene investigation.
Connection to the wave of violence
– We have set up barriers in connection with the site. The national bomb protection has also been on the scene.
The police are on the scene with a large number of resources to interview witnesses and secure evidence. According to the police, they are working on the basis that the act is connected to the ongoing wave of violence.
