Four people, including two children, have died after a powerful explosion at a petrol station in Chechnya.
On Saturday, an explosion occurred at a gas station in the Chechen capital Grozny.
According to Russian authorities, four people have died, two of them children. Another five people have been injured in the fire.
Several eyewitnesses caught the explosion on film.
A clip circulating on social media shows a fuel tank rolling past an eyewitness – just seconds after the explosion, bouncing near the person filming the incident.
Chechnya’s leader stated in a statement on Telegram that he personally took control of the incident, and that those responsible for the explosion would be brought to justice.
Incidentally, he did not provide any further details about the incident.
Explosions at gas stations in the neighboring Dagestan region in September 2024 and August 2023 killed 13 people and 35 people, respectively.
