A fire broke out at a lithium battery factory in Hwaseong city of the country at around 10.30 local time for an unknown reason. According to initial findings, 20 workers lost their lives in the fire.
35 THOUSAND BATTERIES EXPLODED, THE FIRE GROWED FAST
In the statement made by Hwaseong fire brigade, it was stated that the fire grew in a short time due to explosions caused by more than 35 thousand batteries in the factory. While it was noted that 50 fire trucks and 150 personnel were dispatched to the region to intervene in the flames, it was stated that the ongoing explosions made extinguishing efforts difficult.
Authorities are worried that the death toll will increase.
