  • Heat wave and forest fires in North Macedonia

    Seven forest fires raged in North Macedonia during Sunday. The government has declared a state of emergency.

    The fires are spreading mainly in the central and eastern parts of the country at the same time as the country is in an exhausting heat wave.

    Over 100 hectares of forest have burned down and on Friday an extreme weather warning was issued with temperatures reaching 42 degrees in some areas.

  • Two dead in car fire – suspected murder

    At 2 p.m., the emergency services were alerted to a car fire in Malmö.

    Now the police announce that two people died in the fire.

    The incident is being investigated as a murder.

    – We are of course investigating it further, but at the moment there is no suspect, says Rickard Lundqvist, press spokesperson for police region South.

  • Truck has driven into the ditch

    A truck has driven into the ditch at Mossebo outside Tranemo.

    – The truck is on the side of the road, says the police.

    No one is injured.

    – Traffic will be slightly affected in connection with the recovery.

  • Police searching for missing woman

    A 75-year-old woman disappeared from a summer house south of Hamneda in Ljungby last night.

    The woman speaks Danish, has a slim build, glasses and gray hair in a pageboy hairstyle. She was wearing a nightgown when she disappeared.

    If you think you see or have seen the woman, call SOS 112 and ask to speak to the police’s regional command center.

  • Hamas leader killed in attack

    Hamas leader Rafa Salama was killed in the attack on Khan Yunis in southern Gaza on Saturday.

    This is stated by the IDF, which claims that Salama was the target of the attack.

    90 people died and at least 290 people were injured in the attack, which hit buildings and tents where civilians had sought shelter.

    Someone broke into a car company in Hudiksvall and stole a car during the night, according to the police.

    The incident is reported as misappropriation and vandalism.

    The car was later found in Söderhamn and has been returned.

  • Car fire – two people in the car

    Two people were found in a burning car in Malmö, Sydsvenskan reports.

    The police are tight-lipped about the incident.

    – We are on site and investigating. The place is cordoned off for criminal investigation, say the police.

    Emergency services and police were called to the scene shortly after 2 p.m.

    Several people have died in a shooting in Lautlingen in Baden-Württemberg in Germany, writes Bild.

    The perpetrator must be a hunter, the newspaper writes.

    A large number of police patrols and two rescue helicopters are on their way to the crime scene.

    According to information to Focus, it is a man who killed three family members. The man is said to have then injured himself.

    Just over two hours after Donald Trump was shot during a campaign rally in the state of Pennsylvania in the USA, t-shirts began to be sold – printed with an image of an injured and bloodied Trump raising his fist, writes the South China Morning Post.

    It is the Chinese popular e-commerce platform, Taobao that started printing t-shirts with a picture of Trump – right after he was shot. The text: “Shooting makes me stronger” – Trump 2024.

    The sale even started before many governments around the world had time to react to the event. One of the sellers on Taobao told the South China Morning Post that they started printing the shirts with the image as soon as they heard the news of the shooting.

    – Within three hours, we saw more than 2,000 orders from both China and the US, says the seller to the South China Morning Post.

  • Man beaten by stranger on Skeppsholmen

    A man has been beaten by a man unknown to him on Skeppsholmen in Stockholm.

    The suspect was later arrested by the police.

    The case is reported as assault.

  • Details: Bandido stop arrested in Denmark

    A 37-year-old man was arrested when he crossed the border into Denmark yesterday.

    According to Aftonbladet’s information, he is a high-ranking member of the Bandidos.

    – He was arrested at a border control, says Sune Loklandt from the police in Denmark.

  • Shooting death at birthday party in France

    Three people have been shot dead and four injured at a birthday party at a home in central France after gunmen opened fire.

    The suspected perpetrator is said to have been a neighbor who was not invited to the party. After firing shots at the partygoers, he shot and killed himself, according to local authorities.

    Among the dead are the young man whose birthday the party was celebrating, as well as his father and a guest.

    – It is a shock, it is not possible to prepare for it, says the village’s mayor Michel Marien to the newspaper La Montagne.

    The police are now working to find a motive for the shooting.

    Good question Bengt! And it’s probably not something I can answer, but a big difference between Sweden and the USA is that election day here is always a holiday, which at least makes it possible for more people to vote without having to take time off (if you don’t vote early then).
