Explosion alarm in Ankara | SVT News

During Sunday morning, an explosion occurred in connection with the opening of the parliament in the Turkish capital, Ankara. This is reported by Turkish media and several news agencies.

According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, it is a terrorist attack, carried out by at least two people. One of which is said to have blown himself up according to a statement. The other is said to have been “neutralized”, two policemen are said to have been slightly injured during the operation.

The alarm came in at 09:30 local time, and an area in the government quarters has been cordoned off. The bomb squad is on site.
