Experts have warned against bath bombs that have been popular in recent years. It has been suggested that the aromatic balls, which dissolve when placed in water in the form of effervescent, may damage the genitals.
Colorful bath balls, which emit a pleasant smell and foam when dissolved in water and moisturize the body, contain sodium bicarbonate and citric acid. It has been claimed that bath bombs can cause harm by upsetting the delicate balance of vaginal pH levels.
Bath bombs also contain various chemicals and fragrant essences. The contents of bath bombs can cause bacterial vaginosis, irritation and some infections in the genitals.
Vaginal pH levels help keep infection-causing pathogens at bay. A healthy and normal vaginal pH level is typically between 3.8 and 4.5. The chemicals used to make bath bombs look and smell good can upset the balance of bacteria used to keep vaginal pH levels on the scale.
Switching to different pH levels can cause your genitals to become irritated or itchy and often cause vaginal discharge.
