Diablo 4 is coming out in June and the previous open beta only showed a fraction of the game. However, data miners have already read items that will only come into play later. Some of them look really powerful.
What are these items? The unique items, or “uniques”, are pieces of equipment that are equivalent to old legendaries. Diablo 4 introduces a new system that you gear up with:
The developers have already promised that Diablo 4 will get many more items on release than were seen in the beta. Dataminers have already found some of these items.
Spoiler alert: Some of the items reveal something about the story of Diablo 4 and the sources from which you get them. If you want to discover the world for yourself, read no further. In the buffer video you can see the opinion of the MeinMMO editors on the beta:
Where does the information come from? Visit the diablo4.cc website for a full list of the items found. The dataminers there looked at the data that was distributed with the open beta.
Because the data isn’t actually accessible, it’s possible that these are leftovers that don’t even come into play. But it may also be that you can find the items later. A few examples from the list are:
According to current information, Uniques are tied to specific bosses. You can get the butcher’s butcher’s knife from the butcher, the secret boss of Diablo 4. We don’t yet know the exact source of all the items.
Unique items from special bosses, but later
When do I get the items? Uniques can only drop at world tier 3 and higher. Only world tier 2 was possible in the beta. In order to reach higher difficulties, you have to do different world bosses.
Higher tiers make opponents harder, but reward you with more experience, gold, and better items. Accordingly, it is worth playing on the difficulties as soon as your equipment is sufficient and you can reliably kill opponents and bosses.
Many of the uniques will likely be available in the endgame. The developers will explain exactly what you will find there in April:
Diablo 4 will not show its endgame until April – we already know a little bit more
