Experts had warned for October 25 but it was feared

The eclipse was feared for those who looked at the sky with excitement. Those who watched the solar eclipse that took place on October 25 in Van with the naked eye applied to the hospitals.
Operator Dr., who applied to the hospital within two days and stated that 10 people, including children, had vision loss. Yusuf Evcimen, in his statement, emphasized that there is no cure for sun-related damage.

COMPLAINTS HAVE INCREASED: TROPHY VISION, WAVY VISION AND BLURRED VISION…

Operator Evcimen said, “They looked at the sun with the naked eye. This is something we do not want at all. There were complaints of blurred vision that started after a couple of hours due to looking at the sun with the naked eye. During the examinations of our patients, there were complaints of decreased visual acuity, difficulty in focusing, trapezoidal vision, wavy vision and blurred vision. In the films we shot, we see that there is damage to the inner layer of the retina and the photoreceptor layer in the area we call the yellow spot. This causes a decrease in the quality of vision and blurred vision in our patients.

Pointing out that the bright light of the sun decreases during the solar eclipse and people can look at the sun more easily with the naked eye, Dr. Evcimen said, “However, this causes damage to the retina layer of the eye. During a solar eclipse, we must wear sunglasses. We should not look at the sun with the naked eye,” he said.

“NO TREATMENT FOR SUN-RELATED DAMAGES”

Emphasizing that there is no cure for sun-related damage, Evcimen said, “This situation causes permanent vision loss and permanent damage, and we warn our citizens about this. We recommend wearing sunglasses during solar eclipses, even during normal times. Because there are ultraviolet wave rays in the sun. For this reason, we should not look at the sun for more than 15 seconds with the naked eye. Unfortunately, there is no cure for sun damage. We recommend our patients to wear some nutritional supplements and sunglasses. Damages in this area can be repaired by the body itself, albeit to some extent. However, the damage left at the end of the sixth month unfortunately remains and there is no cure.
