Expert warned Dont ignore tinnitus It can be a sign

When tinnitus, medically known as “Tinnitus”, becomes persistent, it seriously affects people’s quality of life. Ear Nose and Throat Specialist Op. Dr. Emel Peru Yücel gave information about tinnitus. Yücel said that tinnitus can occur at any time and said, “Tinnitus is described as hearing sounds similar to buzzing, buzzing, or water noise. It can happen anywhere, at any time; talking on the phone, giving a presentation at work, or even just sitting quietly. You hear a sound that no one else can hear and has no apparent source. Even though other people may not be able to hear the exact same sound, you are not alone. Almost 10 percent of people may experience tinnitus at some point in their lives. Tinnitus may occur from time to time or constantly. The timbre of the voice may be deep or very thin, and it may affect one ear or both. When tinnitus is continuous, it can be very disturbing to the person. “This disorder can even reach a level that affects people’s normal lives,” he said.

Mentioning that tinnitus can be a symptom of serious diseases such as brain tumor, Op. Dr. Yücel said:

“While there may be mostly simple and benign causes, there may also be more serious problems. Common causes are damage to the auditory nerve endings in the inner ear, earwax, problems in the eardrum, ear infections, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, trauma to the ear area, fluid accumulation in the middle ear, hardening of the joints of the bones in the middle ear, contraction of the muscles in the middle ear. Expansion of the eustachian tube, artery anomalies in the middle ear, vascular enlargement in the head and neck region, tumor in the nerves that provide balance and hearing, allergies, low or high blood pressure, blows to the head and neck region, neck calcification, some medications, diabetes, and thyroid diseases. Damage to the auditory nerves in the inner ear; It occurs especially in advanced age. Another common cause of tinnitus today is loud noise. Unfortunately, many people are either unaware or unconcerned about how harmful industrial noise, fire alarms, loud music, and other noises are. Listening to loud music with stereo headphones further increases the risk. Apart from these, tinnitus can also be a symptom of serious diseases such as a brain tumor. Therefore, it is important to consult a doctor if you are experiencing tinnitus. Additionally, treatment for each condition is very different. “For this reason, it is very important to be checked by a specialist doctor and find the real cause of tinnitus,” he said.

Kiss. Dr. Emel Peru Yücel said that cola and cigarettes should be avoided and said, “Be careful not to be exposed to loud music. Keep your blood pressure under control, limit salt intake. Be careful to stay away from coffee, cola and cigarettes, which have a stimulating effect on the nervous system. Keep your blood circulation balanced with regular daily exercises. Get enough rest and avoid getting too tired. Tinnitus does not cause you to go deaf or lose your mind. Accept these sounds as an annoying but unimportant fact and learn to ignore them as much as possible. This type of control can be achieved either by self-warning or by masking. “Try to avoid stress, irritability and tension,” he said. (UAV)This content was published by Hande Dağ
